PASTOR'S PEN

Once again we are entering the season of “thankfulness.” True and abiding gratitude for the wonderful things God has done for us individually and as a people has an enduring effect on our faith. First, it honors God (Ps 50:23); second it helps me hear the voice of God much more clearly in my personal life (Rom 1:21); and lastly, it gives God opportunity to even greater things in and for me in the future (I Sam 2:30). How much more satisfying is life when we are truly enjoying the blessings God has bestowed rather than fretting about the things we do not have? Wondrous and awesome things are ahead, our Father has made that abundantly clear, but let’s not be in such a hurry to get there that we fail to enjoy the moment today.

ROOM FOR AN INTERVIEW
Hello, and welcome to “Room for an Interview!” I am here with Tyler McCarty and I tell you, we are really excited to get this thing going. For those of you that don't know we interview a new church member every month. So let’s get this interview started.

Q: How long have you been at ICC?
A: Almost seventeen years!

Q: What is your favorite book of the Bible and why?
A: Revelation. It's very interesting because you can see what happens in the future!

Q
: What is your favorite dessert?
A: Iced Mocha from my aunt!

Q
: What is your favorite color?
A: Blue.

Q: What one thing have you learned about God that changed your life the most?
A: That no matter what situation you're in, He will be there for you.

Q: What is it like to play the drums?
A: It is fun.

Q: Are you looking forward to the election being over?
A: I am, because of all the ads on television. I just want to watch my soaps.

Well, that’s the end of the interview and a very special thanks to Tyler McCarty for taking time out of his day to do this. Goodbye until next time and remember you might be the next person for “Room for an Interview!”

WHAT'S HAPPENED?

Arrg...Where's me Booty? ICC Youth's dressed up for the first ever ICC's pirate party!

We all had a great time and a great turnout for the Youth Pirate Party. There were hot-dogs, pizza and most important of all, popcorn! Later in the night we watched Veggie Tales: "The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything" movie. It was very funny! After the movie we split into three groups and had a real treasure hunt with real buried treasure! The whole night was a blast and thanks to all that made it happen, the ICC's Youth and parents!

A wealthy man decided to go on a safari in Africa. He took his faithful pet dachshund along for company. One day, the dachshund starts chasing butterflies and before long the dachshund discovers that he is lost. So, wandering about, he notices a leopard heading rapidly in his direction with the obvious intention of having him for lunch. The dachshund thinks, "OK, I'm in deep trouble now!" Then he noticed some bones on the ground close by, and immediately settles down to chew on the bones with his back to the approaching cat. Just as the leopard is about to leap, the dachshund exclaims loudly, "Boy, that was one delicious leopard. I wonder if there are any more around here." Hearing this, the leopard halts his attack in mid-stride, as a look of terror comes over him, and slinks away into the trees. "Whew," says the leopard. "That was close. That dachshund nearly had me." Meanwhile, a monkey, who had been watching the whole scene from a nearby tree, figures he can put this knowledge to good use and trade it for protection from the leopard. So, off he goes. But the dachshund saw him heading after the leopard with great speed, and figured that something must be up.The monkey soon catches up with the leopard, spills the beans and strikes a deal for himself with the leopard. The leopard is furious at being made a fool of and says, "Here monkey, hop on my back and see what's going to happen to that conniving canine." Now the dachshund sees the leopard coming with the monkey on his back, and thinks, "What am I going to do now?" But instead of running, the dog sits down with his back to his attackers, pretending he hasn't seen them yet ... and, just when they get close enough to hear, the dachshund says.................. "Where's that darn monkey? Sent him off half an hour ago to bring me another leopard."
